I just want to lean in
to swallow the rays of light
rainbow sun glittering in the sky
to wash over my face
and replace the shadows
this year has left
markings deeply cut
groves of lessons
marked upon the face
the eyes
to touch the souls of the feet
groves so deep
they ought to bleed
scabbed over
then healed
transmutted into elegance
of grace that cannot be
replaced
save a beautiful day or
the brush of wings on my face
the angels spoke of this day
when we listened closely
choose to hear all
choose to laugh
after or before the fall
just choose
or not
there is no attachment
no longing
for
all of it is well
good and whole
as I lean into
Your grace
