Run With Me

Away from the crowds.

Away from the noise.

Run with me,

He asked,

Hand outstretched,

Reaching towards me.

Eyes pleading and twinkling.

Asking and knowing all at once.

Because he knew I could not,

Would not,

Choose to stay.
Hand and hand we ran.

Far away.

Together.
To a place where the water breathes life into our souls.

Where we had no need to run.
